I wasn’t expecting to celebrate Valentine’s day with my fiance because the plan was to celebrate his mom’s birthday at the end of the month. Suddenly though, he decided to come home after all. He surprised me with a bouquet of carnation and gerbera on my doorstep. *awww*
We didn’t think about anything fancy to do on Valentine’s day. In fact, we just cooked some food at his place and sang along with the videoke. But he was unhappy with the spaghetti and siomai that we prepared so we figured we could grab a bite somewhere.
We’re both into Italian food, meaning, we love the Ps — pizza and pasta. And because it’s a special day, we went somewhere we’ve never been to before — Amalfi Cucina Italiana. It is located in The Avenue Complex, Glicerio Pison Avenue, Brgy. San Rafael, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
It was said on one of the restaurant reviews on the Internet that their food is a little bit expensive. True enough, our total bill could already feed more than 25 kids with Jollibee‘s 39-ers. But we left the place gorged with good food and overall satisfaction.
We had Insalata di Amalfi, Bolognese (Linguine pasta) and Salsiccia (pizza). I loved the salad best! I’ve never tasted anything like it before. The novelty of the taste is simply overwhelming. For the drinks, we had the Amalfi Iced Tea and Signature Cranberry Juice. We didn’t know that the juice comes in a bottle, which is good for two persons. But we didn’t regret getting the iced tea just for the heck of having tried it. *lol*
After dinner, my fiance and I wanted to drink ourselves tipsy, but given the hearty meal we had, we barely finished our bottle of alcohol.
That ends our hearty heart’s day. I hope and pray for more of these to come. Amen.
